The great snowfall

The snowfall that marked the start of 2021 will help create good water reserves in the deeper layers of soil beneath our vineyards, those that are only reached by the finest of the vine’s roots as they strive to combat the summer stress that comes with the extreme continental climate that prevails in this part of the world.

The snow will also improve the health of the vines during the growing cycle that will be starting soon, cleansing the wood of the remains of fungi accumulated during previous seasons.

In summary: the snow cleanses and creates water reserves that will help the vines cope with the different stages of the growing cycle to come. There is no doubt that it bodes well for the future. Because, as the saying much quoted at the moment goes: “a year of snow, a year of plenty”.
